The Protection of Assets (POA) Manual is the premier reference for security professionals and business managers interested in security. Now in its thirtieth year of publication, the multi-volume POA Manual was acquired by ASIS International, the leading society for advancing professional security education worldwide. Through its global resources, ASIS is committed to enhancing the POA Manual by updating and expanding its contents. This process will unfold in stages, tapping into the knowledge and expertise of new and existing authors.

Mission: The POA Manual will provide the knowledge and strategic solutions necessary to help professionals meet the security demands of the 21st century. It is designed to be an authoritative and comprehensive security reference spanning the breadth and depth of security. Its content will provide current, accurate, and practical solutions distilled from a range of data and qualified resources.

Audience: The primary readers of the POA Manual are protection professionals and all business managers with asset protection responsibilities. Through the discussions of pertinent studies, doctrine, practices, and industry standards and/or guidelines, readers will be able to research and understand the security theories, concepts, and solutions applicable to a specific situation. Students pursuing the academic study of security or asset protection will also find the manual to be a useful central reference. Instructors may use the manual for assigned readings or as a study guide.
